Suburban Dog Training LLC -- The Basics and Beyond
Owner-Instructor Sandra Ling has over 30 years dog training and competition experience, including placing

CKC, ASCA and LCA obedience, earning numerous High In Trial awards in both specialty and all-breed
competitions. Her Leonberger Chauncey was the first LCA Champion and Utility titled Leonberger in the
United States.
Approved by the American Kennel Club as a Canine Good Citizen evaluator, she is also a member of the
Association of Pet Dog Trainers, Northeast Ohio Dog Club, the Great Lakes Leonberger Club, the Leonberger
Club of America, the Dalmatian Club of America, the Dog Writers Association and locally the Madison-Perry
Area Chamber of Commerce.
Obedience classes are on-going in Madison, Ohio, on week day evenings and Saturdays. Class size is limited
on a first-come basis by pre-registration. Please contact us for a current schedule of programs and fees.
Puppy Head-Start: A six-week program for puppies ages 10-18 weeks. Early socialization is key to
developing good manners, both at home and in public. Lessons are geared to the puppy level of attention and
presented in a positive manner. In addition to elementary etiquette obedience, puppies will have supervised
social time and enjoy a variety of play obstacles.
Basic Household Obedience: A six-week program for dogs ages 5 mos. and older. Controlled walking,
sit/down stay, stand in place, coming when called and good manners around other people and dogs are
stressed. All lessons are on leash with application to everyday situations practiced.
Basic Obedience II: This program continues the household class, working to build a better understanding of
the human-dog relationship through positive teamwork. Whether the goal is a well-behaved family companion
or an obedience competitor, the path continues with this program.
Beyond the Basics: This six-week session revolves around competition obedience and rally exercises. Dog
and handler teams develop skills at an individual pace. Participants must have completed the Basic Household
Obedience program with us.
Canine Good Citizen: Both Sandi and husband Jeff are AKC certified Canine Good Citizen evaluators. A
six-week CGC program is offered periodically during the year, followed by the CGC evaluation. Both Sandi
and Jeff are available to conduct CGC evaluations for canine clubs.
